Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Welcome at the airport and transfer to hotel.
Delhi – Srinagar Kargil (by Flight)
Arrival Srinagar Airport transfer to Kargil (204 Kms) drive towards kargil Situated at an altitude of 9000 Ft. Sonamarg – 84 Kms is also called as “The meadow of gold” has, as it backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer. Stop. Check in at Hotel.Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel – Kargil.
Kargil Leh
Early morning drive to Lamayuru. After Lunch, visit Gompa. Lamayuru also referred as “Yangdrung Gompa” is the oldest monastery of Ladakh perched on hill top with its village at the foot of the hill. Most of the monastery is now in ruins. It was partially resorted in 1975. The oldest holy side in Ladakh. Lamayuru was once a lake. It was blessed by a lama after which, as legend goes the water of the lake receded upto the mountains leaving place for the monastery to be built. It is also the” free zone” of Ladakh since not even a criminal can be apprehended in this place. Now mostly in ruins only the main hall exists today and houses numerous “Tangkhas”. Later drive to Leh, enroute visit Rizong Monastery. It has a monastery and a nunnery, which accommodates lady monks or Nuns locally called as “Chomos”. Dinner and overnight at Leh
Leh – Nubra 155 KMSONE Way
Breakfast at the hotel. Early Morning Leave Leh for 3 Days Trip to NUBRA VALLEY passing thru Horzey & Gangles Village. The road then rises to reach Khardungla (5602 Mts.) the world’s highest Motorable road & enjoy the landscape & the beautiful birds eye view of the Leh town. Visit Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. Driving for 30 Kms takes to Khalsar Bridge. Deskit can be approached by driving parallel to Shyok River for 20 Kms. From the Historical & Tourist point of view, Deskit is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. Further drive from Deskit to Hunder, another 15 – 20 Kms drive. At Hunder, you may see a few Double Humped, Hairy and Bactrian Camels. Later drive back on the same road to your camp at Sumur Dinner and overnight at Deluxe Camp
Nubra – Turtuk – Nubra
Breakfast at the Camp. Drive to Turtuk for full day trip. Return back to Nubra for Dinner and overnight at Camp.
Leh – Nubra
Breakfast at the Camp. Drive back the same route for Leh. Enroute visit Panamik Hot Spring & Insta Monastery. On arrival in Leh, check in at the Hotel. Afternoon Free to explore surroundings of Leh. Dinner & overnight at the Hotel.
Leh
Full day excursion to visit Thiksey and Hemis monasteries. Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive gompa. There are several temples in this gompa, containing images stupas and wall painting of Buddhas which are exquisite. Hemis is the wealthiest, best known and biggest gompa in Ladakh. It also has the largest Thanka, which is unfurled once in 12 years (next in 2016). On the way back visit Shey Palace, Situated on a hillock 15 km. upstream from Leh that was once the residence of the royal family. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tidetan kings. A 7.5 meter high copper status of Buddha plated with gold and the largest of its kind is installed here. Overnight at hotel in Leh.
Leh – Delhi
After early Breakfast at the hotel. In time transfer to airport for flight to Delhi.
